Every last detail of The Gray Barn was planned to make your stay welcoming and peaceful. It was truly a retreat. First of all, Leigh is an absolute gem. Her communication in advance of our stay made it easy to check in and find our rooms, she is kind and easy to talk to, and she is the queen of the kitchen! She also made sure I had (vegan) marshmallows for hot chocolate, so she clearly knows the way to my heart! The decor is minimalist but warm, the views are magnificent from every room, and the bedding and towels were so cozy that I made sure to check the brand to buy some for myself. (Not telling! You need to stay there and experience it for yourself! You’ll thank me later!) You’re going to stay in a beautiful B&B in the Hudson Valley anyway, why not stay in THIS beautiful one where you can also support a really special non-profit and watch happy goats frolic from the deck. You’ll be happy that you did.

A wonderful five-room Inn tucked away on a 150 acre animal sanctuary. Beautifully designed structure with modern amenities, en suite bathrooms and amazing views. A vegan breakfast was made each morning with fresh, local ingredients. Lots of local attractions like the town of Woodstock, High Falls and many hiking and biking trails. Waking up to the view of the river with the animals all around was a great start to each day. We will definitely return soon!

Gorgeous Hudson Valley experience

I visited The Gray Barn for the first time this spring and was so impressed with my stay! The Caesar room was very comfortable and the linens are so cozy. I loved the view of the creek outside and the opportunity to get to interact with the animals onsite. As for the vegan breakfast, I can safely say the vegan sammie was easily the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. The berry crisp was delicious as well.

I give the Gray Barn 5 stars

The Gray Barn is a beautiful getaway with excellent service and fantastic food! I recently visited the Gray Barn with my mom, who just went vegan this past year. We were both blown away by our experience. Every last detail in the Gray Barn was elegant and comfortable. We especially loved the soft and cozy beds and the stunning view of the goat pasture and mountains! In the morning, our breakfast was absolutely delicious and the ingredients were so fresh! We had breakfast sandwiches with seitan, vegan bacon and fresh vegetables of our choice along with vegan yogurt and berry crisp fresh from the oven. Our hosts were so inviting and accommodating that it really felt like home away from home. It was the perfect way to relax and recharge and I can’t wait to go back!
