Sister Trip!

We had a great time! After dinner in New Paltz, we headed back to The Gray Barn with a bottle of vegan wine and chocolates to relax. We stayed up chatting and drinking wine with other guests until the wee hours before crashing on the most comfortable bed. Breakfast the next day was fabulous and the included tours are fun and super informative. This is my second time there and I highly recommend it!

Amazing Sanctuary Stay

Every detail of The Gray Barn is absolutely exquisite and tranquil. Leigh, the hospitality director went above and beyond in accommodating us, the breakfast was delicious both mornings. The experience of staying on the grounds of Woodstock Sanctuary along with the time spent with the beautiful animals was more than we could have asked for and by far exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be back for another Gray Barn stay!!!

April visit

The space- room and common area- offered complete comfort and beauty. The balcony allowed for peaceful viewing of the goats, river, eagles, and landscape. Loved the breakfast! Staff was kind and very responsive during our tour meeting the honorable residents. Will return.

Palace in a Barn

I decided to support the sanctuary by staying one night and my expectations were blown out of the water. Self check in was a breeze, it felt very safe and the feeling you get once inside is of awe. Beautiful, natural design with sleek touches that make this unassuming Barn from the outside a palace inside. The rooms are spacious and the towels and toiletries are going on my list to buy for my own place! The nature sounds from my balcony were so amazing and what a view. One of my favorites was the picture of the piggy in my room. Great to wake up and see that. Delicious food and excellent place to tour, alone, with friends or your family! Beyond impressed. Thank you.

Beautiful Retreat

From the minute we walked into The Gray Barn we felt welcomed and relaxed. The aesthetics are impeccable, with the white walls, natural wood, high ceilings, clean lines, state of the art kitchen, and beautifully decorated community living space. Through the glass doors overlooking the creek and the "tiniest herd" goat pasture, you can see and hear geese, song birds, and enjoy the abundance of wildlife (including a family of deer) from the back deck. Leigh, the hospitality coordinator has thought of everything! From the soft towels, vegan / cruelty free pillows, bedding, and environmentally friendly complimentary amenities, to the delicious home cooked vegan breakfast in the morning, everything is a treat. Enjoy yoga on the deck or in your room (because of course there are yoga mats in each room!) or just sit on the deck at night and look at the stars. There is something for everyone here and you are sure to want to book another stay immediately after leaving! My husband and I came for my birthday and I already want to stay again soon. In addition to the beautiful Gray Barn, you also get a tour of the Woodstock Farm Sanctuary which is beautiful and home to many rescued animals. This is the best experience we've had in a long time and we can't wait to go back.

I didn't want to leave

If there was anything that wasn't absolutely amazing about my stay at the Gray Barn- it would be easier to mention that but there wasn't. From the delicious vegan foods, to the kind people, including the nature and animals and pastoral landscapes, the upliftingly elegant architectural design; everything was beyond my hopes and dreams for a majestic getaway in the Hudson Valley! I can't wait to go back because I didn't even want to leave...

Great weekend getaway

We really enjoyed our stay. The bedding and towels felt super plush and premium. The room itself was on the small side, but had a really nice balcony with a small bistro set overlooking the goat pasture. The lone décor in the room was an incredible photograph of Agnes the pig. When we first started settling into our room, it was a bit on the cold side. Leigh was super responsive after hours and came to readjust our thermostat and also gave us a space heater which we didn't end up needing. The breakfast was great and the included tour was fantastic. Also, even though you feel in the middle of nowhere, we found plenty of vegan dining options in the near vicinity. The coop up the road had some really good grab and go options.

The most amazing experience!

My husband and I loved absolutely every moment of staying at The Gray Barn last weekend. We went on an off day - Sunday - and ended up having the entire inn to ourselves! But that's not even the best part. The level of detail, beauty, and positive energy at The Gray Barn is one-of-a-kind. The portraits of the sanctuary's animals throughout the space creates a warm, welcoming environment and the shared kitchen and living space is truly Instagram-worthy. Leigh made us a beautiful vegan breakfast (I ate every single bite which I normally do not do!) and went the extra mile by shipping my husband's misplaced keys. We stayed in the beautiful Agnes' room which has an incredible view of the Tiny Herd goat pasture. The goats are precious (and very happy!) and the private tour of the sanctuary was incredibly intimate, educational and sweet - even more so than their regular weekend tours. I already adore the sanctuary and everything they do for animals, and now I'm in love The Gray Barn too. We're already planning our summer return trip!
